Second Week of College- September 2-9

Well, another week down, 22 million to go. Ok, so I really don't know how many more weeks there are left in college, but sometimes it seems like that many. Lots of excitement this week, lots of different activities going on. We had another movie to go to on Monday through our FYE program. Our FYE program is a First Year Experience program that you sign up for. Basically it is where a bunch of people all live in the same area of the dorm and have Freshman seminar together and have special activities in order to encourage togetherness. It is a nice thing to be a part of, and its nice to see familiar faces at these different events. So on Monday we watched the movie, Accepted, which is a movie about a kid who basically starts his own college. I enjoyed it and thought it was very approriate seeing as how we are in college. Classes were pretty much the same for the rest of the week. On Friday we got free tshirts from our FYE program. Each floor created their own motto and then had a little bit of a competition to see who had the best shirt. I'm still not sure if a winner was declared or not. You can view Beth and I modeling our shirts in our room below.

On Friday night we had smores and fireworks down at the pavillion which was a really fun event. The fireworks were amazing and they were actually like a real show, a big finale and all. There were some cute ones that incorporated the purple and gold colors of naz. Saturday I spent the whole day pretty much doing homework because on Sunday my parents came up to visit and I wanted all my homework done!

So Sunday the family came up to visit so that we could celebrate my brother and mother's birthdays. It was a really nice treat to be able to see them all. We of course had to do some shopping at the Super Walmart for some necessities that I needed so that was nice that they could take me to do that. Then we went out to the Dinosaur Bar B Que which is a famous eatery in Rochester. I was not impressed with it, but my mom and brother seemed pleased with it so that's all that counts right? The restaurant was a little too run down for my liking.
I got to show the family around campus a little bit more now that I actually know where things are and what is in the different buildings. I think that that made my mom feel good that she had a visual of the places that I keep talking about! But all in all the day was lovely and a fun time was had by all. If only I didn't have to say goodbye!
